Adidas Pure Boost

I’ve been waiting to buy a pair of Adidas shoes with Boost for a while now.  While initially they were selling out fast, I decided to wait until things settled before I bought a pair.  Thankfully my patience paid off because I finally found a nice pair on sale.  The model I bought is called Adidas Pure Boost S81992 and they come in a “trace khaki” colorway.  The bottom is a mix of gum and Boost, while the uppers is knitted with a khaki digital camo pattern.

While they are running shoes, I decided to use them more as walking (mall) shoes because of the colorway.  Just like white sneakers, they’re susceptible to getting dirty if you wear them outdoors (and I want to keep them looking clean and fresh for as long as possible).  So far from the times I have worn them I have to say, Boost is very impressive because it felt comfortable after hours of walking and the knitted uppers allowed for foot breathability (which is welcomed on hot summer days).  I’m glad Adidas is finding success with this sneaker and Boost because they’ve been one of my favorite brands for years and I’ll keep supporting them as long as they keep making these comfortable sneakers.

WWE WrestleMania 34

Not gonna lie, that was unbelievable.. it took six 5F's but the Big Dog went down.  Overall it was a terrible Wrestlemania, but I'm glad Brock won

Game Genie

If there’s one thing I’m not afraid to admit is that I totally suck at retro video games.  While others may defend the old school style of game difficulty as being normal back then, I argue that it was always a horrible experience for me.  Thankfully the Game Genie was released back in those days, so that terrible players could beat those difficult games.  Unfortunately people used to call them (us) cheaters for using the Game Genie; an attachment device that helps you enable special codes to play original games (for example extra lives, or jump higher).  While I never used one back in the day, I was able to get one this week at my local buy and sell store.

Initially I was excited because I would finally be able to beat those old school games that had haunted me for years.  So when I got home, I cleaned the Game Genie off, and set up my Nintendo console to play games.  In order to enable the Game Genie I had to attach it to a cartridge (my precious cartridge) and physically jam it firmly; then insert it into my NES with the damn thing sticking out half way.  Unfortunately the Game Genie didn’t even work properly; I either got a grey screen or the codes didn’t work.  They either have never worked properly, the chip has expired, and it’s not worth wasting your time trying to fix it (you have to remove the label to unscrew it).  And so I have to firmly warn everyone that you avoid getting this damn Frankenstein monster for your classic consoles.

Nike Air Foamposite One Copper Retro 2017

2017 was an interesting year for not only Jordan brand but also foamposites, as we saw the increase of multiple releases throughout the year.  What was once a sporadic release of sneakers a few years ago, was now a weekly-monthly thing as we saw multiple models released.  Jordan brand’s excuse for the increase was greed related, foamposite’s was to celebrate the 20^th anniversary of the original release.  This celebration promised the release of popular past foamposites as retros.  Most people felt overwhelmed by the amount of releases, and felt as if the foamposite prestige had lost some of its luster with the overexposure of these once rare sneakers.

I on the other hand couldn’t care less because I was not only able to get a pair but also a pair I always wanted; the Foamposite One Copper.  This sneaker features a shinny copper colorway that is inspired by Anfernee Hardaway’s nickname “Penny”; the one cent penny.  While I’m not a fan of bright flashy sneakers, the inspiration for the colorway was well executed and on point. These are the sneakers that I love wearing and owning because of the history and genius.
