Tim Hortons Boston Cream Donut

The Boston Cream donut has always been one of my favourite donuts from Tim Hortons. Unfortunately over the years the quality of Tim’s has gone done hill, especially with donuts. They used to be made fresh in house and were much larger. Nevertheless, the Boston Cream donut is still delicious and goes perfect with a double double coffee.

BTW the Boston Cream donut is a classic yeast-filled donut injected with creamy vanilla custard and topped with a rich chocolate fondant or glaze.

Tim Hortons Pumpkin Spice Iced Capp

Once September creeps around I start craving pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks and McDonald’s.  However it’s been an unusually hot September this year so rather than going for my usual PSL to warm me up, I decided to try Tim Horton’s new pumpkin spice Iced Capp.  It’s basically a regular Iced Capp but with whip cream and a pumpkin spice caramel syrup.  I thought it tasted delicious and I’m definitely going to be drinking more if this heat keeps up.

Tim Hortons Nanaimo Bar Donut

With Canada celebrating its 150th birthday this year (1867 confederation), Tim Hortons has decided to partake in the celebration by releasing Canadian food favourites.  Of course I was most interested in the nanaimo bar donut; a delicious brownie-like treat that was invented in Nanaimo, B.C.  The Tim Hortons version is also delicious and manages to capture the right balance of chocolate and custard.

Tim Hortons 2015 Christmas Ornament

The 2015 Tim Hortons Christmas ornament is a mini snow globe.  Featured inside is a Tim Hortons coffee shop surrounded by a snow man and a few Christmas trees.  Like all their previous ornaments, it has red thread at the top so that it can be hung on a tree.  I bought it for $6.99, and it comes packaged in a charming little box that carries a yarn like design that reminds me of winter mittens.
I was pleasantly surprised by this year’s ornament because I felt like they had done everything they could do, but they proved me wrong.  The detail of the coffee shop is very intricate and adorable.  The only thing missing from this is a long line up that starts from outside the coffee shop (just like in real life), lol.  Although it’s the only ornament we’re getting from Tim Hortons this year it’s still a pretty nice piece to add to my ornament collection.

Tim Hortons 2014 Christmas Ornament

This year’s Tim Hortons Christmas ornament is a Timbits box.  It’s an exact replica of the regular 20 pack box you usually get throughout the year (except during Christmas when they release a festive box).  The graphics on the ornament are clearly printed, it weighs a little, and it comes with a red string at the top so you can hang it on your tree.  I haven’t bought a Timmy’s ornament in a while, but since I love Timbits I had to get this one.  And just to let you know my favourite Timbits are pumpkin spice, birthday cake, cinnamon spice, chocolate glazed, and old fashion glazed.

Toronto Blue Jays Tim Hortons Donut

I went to buy my usual double double (2 cream, 2 sugar) coffee today at Tim Hortons, when I noticed they had this beauty; a Toronto Blue Jays donut.  This donut is similar to their Boston cream donut (vanilla custard filled), except the Blue Jays donut has vanilla frosting and sprinkles (black and white).  My favourite part of this donut is the beautiful Toronto Blue Jays logo at the top.  The donut is delicious and it's nice to know that Timmies is a Jays fan.

THI

So ‘Roll up the Rim to Win’ is back at Tim Hortons and this year I have decided to invest in Tim Hortons stock, THI on the TSE.  I have been wanting to do this for a couple of years now, but have been hesitant because I always wanted to buy it cheap when it went down.  Of course that hasn’t happened, and it’s been the same situation with other stocks I have wanted.  Sometimes waiting too long can be a bad thing, such was the case with Apple, and Buffalo Wild Wings. Both stocks I wanted to buy last year, but have since sky rocketed, so I am no longer able to buy at their current price.

THI is still affordable though, and there isn’t a Tim Horton’s location in Toronto that you can find that doesn’t have a line up (it’s very successful).  In fact today I waited in line for 10 minutes just to buy coffee.  Not that it’s super delicious or anything (just my opinion), but it’s just comfort food and coffee that makes me happy.  With plans for further expansions into the United States, I’m confident THI will be a great investment for years to come.

Heart-Shaped Tragedy

According to Tim Hortons there’s no better way to say I love you, than with their new heart-shaped donut.  Well there’s no one else I love more than myself, so I decided to give myself this donut.  The donut is filled with raspberry filling, is dipped in chocolate, and is topped with strawberry sprinkles.  After just one bite, I wanted to puke and I threw this Frankenstein donut out.  This thing tastes nasty, the chocolate and raspberry doesn’t mix very well.  It reminded me of those expired chocolates you find in a convenience store that are fruit filled, and taste tangy.  Sorry Tim Hortons but you broke my heart this Valentines.
Timmies did however do a great job on releasing these new limited edition gift cards.  I of course was able to score a Leafs Tim card.  With the successful season (compared to other years) the team is having this year, these might end up being a collector’s piece.

S’mores Donut

This has been a wonderful summer, and nothing defines summer as much as S’mores.  To think such simple ingredients can create a wonderful snack is amazing.  Just in case you don’t know what S’mores are; well they are charbroiled marshmallows that are put on top of milk chocolate and then sandwiched between two graham crackers.  The outcome is a messy, gooey, melted chocolate snack that is delicious.  I didn’t think it could get much better than that, but then Tim Horton’s came in this summer and introduced the S’mores Donut.  The donut consists of a chocolate donut that is dipped in chocolate and then pieces of marshmallows, milk chocolate and graham cracker are added on top.  This donut was delicious and unfortunately, just like summer only lasted a limited time.

Tim Hortons Christmas Ornaments 2010

If there’s one place I can’t live without it is Tim Hortons. For anyone that doesn’t know, Tim Hortons is a coffee shop franchise that is very popular in Canada. In fact everyone always laughs that you can find one on every block, seriously. I wouldn’t say they make the best coffee or the best donuts in the world, but it’s how they provide it that makes them the best. For instance their coffee is always fresh, and their donuts are also baked daily (from frozen, lol). They also provide a sort of home comfort feeling whenever you go there, all nice and warm.
This year, same as the previous year, they are releasing some collectable Christmas ornaments so people can take some of that Tim Hortons comfort home for the holidays. Last year they released a take-out cup ornament, which again is being released this year. It is made out of ceramic, painted in the same colours as a real cup, and comes with red string so you can hang it up on the tree. What’s new for this year is a coffee pot, which is made out of plastic and glass. Prices vary from region to region, but I was able to buy my set for $4.49 each. The quality for them is amazing, and I hope Timmies will be able to give us a new batch every year. I'm thinking a tim-bits box, donuts, bagels, etc…
