Top Favorite: Flower

Today I went to Canada Blooms, an exhibition that celebrates gardens and flowers.  I love going to these festivals because it gets me excited for summer.  I was able to buy my favorite flower as well, the Freesia flower.  Not only is this flower bright and colorful but it also smells sweet and delicious like fruit Mentos candy.

The Walking Dead

I’m not a fan of horror films.  I have watched many before, but I never really enjoyed them as much as action films.  I just don’t like the gruesome parts of horror films, and the feeling of being scared a few days after watching one.  So that was my mentality for many years.  Then one year I was watching AMC channel, when they mentioned that for Halloween they would be showing a marathon of horror films in October.  Many of the films included movies from the 70’s, 80’s and early 90’s; a time period that I am intrigued by (fashion, culture, music/movies).  The best part was that since it was on AMC, all the stuff I hated from horror films (the gruesome scary parts) would be edited out; essentially becoming a PG rated movie.

Toronto Raptors Bobblehead Damon Stoudamire

To celebrate the Toronto Raptors 20th anniversary season in the NBA, the Raptors decided to release past alumni player bobbleheads as stadium giveaways for the 2014-15 season.  We have had many great players wear the Raptors jersey in the past, but my favourite has always been Damon Stoudamire.  Stoudamire was there from the birth of the franchise team way back in 1995.  During that first season the Raptors went on to beat the Chicago Bulls with Michael Jordan during their 72 and 10 season (1 of 9 teams to beat the Bulls), they won their inaugural first game on November 3, 1995 at the SkyDome, and Stoudamire won the Rookie of the Year award.
The Damon Stoudamire bobblehead was given out on March 27th, 2015, and it was limited to 5,000.  It comes packaged in a vibrant purple box, with the Raptors XX anniversary logo.  Stoudamire is displayed in an away purple jersey featuring the classic Raptors dinosaur logo, (which I have come to love over time) and he’s carrying a basketball in his hand.  At the base there is a commemorative plaque which again features the Raptors XX anniversary logo, and the Air Canada logo.
The bobblehead was made by Alexander Global Promotions, who I think did an excellent job considering that this is a mini bobblehead which was hand painted.  My only complaint would be the lack of Stoudamire’s tattoos, especially considering he’s famous for his Might Mouse tattoo.  Other than that this is a wonderful bobblehead that celebrates the wonderful history of one of Toronto’s best Raptors.
