When I was a kid, there was nothing better than
going to a live WWF wrestling show.
Being able to see the wrestlers up close and buy their fan gear would
have been amazing. Unfortunately I never
got to experience those things because my parents never took me. Not that I ever asked them to, and none of my
friends ever went either (that I can recall); but I was just more into baseball
at the time, especially with how good the Blue Jays were (1992, 1993).
If I ever went to a show, the item that I would
have wanted the most would have been a WWF championship belt. Flash forward many years, and I’m watching
wrestling again and I go to Toys R Us and they had in stock a World Heavyweight
Championship belt. So I bought it
(because I’m an adult, lol). The version
I bought is called; WWE Winged Eagle Championship belt. I like this version because it’s the version
I remember the most from my childhood as being popular (something about the
blue paint in the middle is nice). It’s
basically made up of gold metallic plastic, some Velcro on the back (which will
never fit me) and faux vinyl leather, it’s cheaply made, but I love it. It represents the boyhood dream that I’m
finally able to buy as a grown ass man.
