Nike Air Foamposite One Copper Retro 2017

2017 was an interesting year for not only Jordan brand but also foamposites, as we saw the increase of multiple releases throughout the year.  What was once a sporadic release of sneakers a few years ago, was now a weekly-monthly thing as we saw multiple models released.  Jordan brand’s excuse for the increase was greed related, foamposite’s was to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the original release.  This celebration promised the release of popular past foamposites as retros.  Most people felt overwhelmed by the amount of releases, and felt as if the foamposite prestige had lost some of its luster with the overexposure of these once rare sneakers.
I on the other hand couldn’t care less because I was not only able to get a pair but also a pair I always wanted; the Foamposite One Copper.  This sneaker features a shinny copper colorway that is inspired by Anfernee Hardaway’s nickname “Penny”; the one cent penny.  While I’m not a fan of bright flashy sneakers, the inspiration for the colorway was well executed and on point. These are the sneakers that I love wearing and owning because of the history and genius.

Retro Unboxing: Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3

One of the best games for the original NES was Super Mario Bros. 3.  It took video games to the next level with its colorful graphics, fun game play, catchy tunes, and freedom to discover and replay multiple times.  It was basically the standard for many years for what a perfect game should be like.  I never thought it could get any better until I played the updated version on Game Boy Advance; which is called Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3.  Despite the confusing name, I actually prefer this version over the original because of the improved graphics and the portability the GBA offers.
While I was never a complete in box collector for video games, once I got back into gaming a few years ago I decided I had to have this game in my collection.  The beauty of this version is that it comes with a physical manual printed in color, awesome Nintendo inserts, and Bonus Level cards that will open up new levels when you scan them using an e Reader (the 2000’s version of an Amiibo).  This GBA release is the reason why I will always support physical games over digital.

The Fresh Prince of West Philadelphia

With the supposed reboot of Fresh Prince about to happen I decided to share some ideas about how the show should be.  This time the main character is the son of Carlton who grew up privileged in Beverly Hills.  Carlton’s son is named William, after Will Smith, and is an absolute preppy.  Carlton, his dad, is now a Republican politician.  He's married to his second wife, since his first wife died (also the mother of William).  However Carlton (played by Alfonso Ribeiro), is involved in a major scandal (though he’s innocent).  As a result he loses his job, his wife leaves him, and he’s sued and is left penniless.  Carlton can’t handle the scandal so he runs away with his son to the only place where nobody will recognize them, West Philadelphia.  Carlton and Will must now adjust to life in Philly, where they soon realize it’s won’t be an easy transition.  However over time they become a part of the community and eventually find out why it’s called the city of brotherly love.

Kellogg's Super Mario Amiibo Cereal

It’s funny how the world works sometimes because just a few months ago I had made a wish for Nintendo to re-release some Nintendo cereal.  Then all of a sudden rumours started swirling the internet about Nintendo actually releasing a cereal, and then it was confirmed.  Unfortunately this cereal was never sold in Canada, so I had to wait until I had a trip planned to the US so I could finally get a couple boxes.
Now that I have the cereal, I have to say I’m happy to have it part of my collection.  While admittedly the cereal isn’t the best tasting (I prefer Lucky Charms), it’s still pretty decent.  But honestly the best part of this release is that it also doubles as an amiibo.  Hopefully one day, we’ll also see some Zelda cereal.
