'47 CLEAN UP Adjustable Hat

I’ve been a die-hard '47 Brand fan for years now, specifically their “Franchise” style hat.  I’ve owned various teams and colour hats, but always in the Franchise style.  Yet I never bought an adjustable version because I didn’t see the purpose of buying another style hat if the Franchise was already perfect.  This all changed recently one day when I noticed two Maple Leafs hats that came in the current Leafs logo from '47 Brand.  However I was shocked when I picked them up to find out that they weren’t the Franchise style, but rather an adjustable style called '47 CLEAN UP.
While in my hands I noticed that the quality was really good.  I then tried them on, and they also looked good on my head (after a little adjusting).  I then decided to give them a try, and so I bought them.  My only concern was the buckle on the back.  When I was younger I owned a Celtics hat that had a leather strap-on, and the metal buckle would always dig into my head when I hit something.  Anyway after a few weeks of wearing these hats, I have to say the buckle and strap hasn’t been a problem and in fact I haven’t even noticed it (I sometimes forget that I’m wearing it).  So overall I’m glad I bought the '47 CLEAN UP and I highly recommend it.

St. Patrick’s Day Kelly Green Yankees Hat

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!  This is my green Yankees hat that I like to wear every year around St. Patrick’s Day.  Besides the Kelly green colorway it comes in, what makes it special (lucky) is the shamrock on the back.
Brand: Twins Enterprise (47’ Brand)
Team: New York Yankees

Removing a Baseball Hat Sticker

Here’s a topic that isn’t really relevant anymore, whether to remove a sticker from a baseball hat or leave it on?  The practice of leaving the sticker on became popular in the early 2000’s when multiple fake fitted hats started showing up, and the sticker could be used as a check of authenticity.  Eventually the demand for fake hats died down, and the style of leaving the sticker on petered out.  Today most people that collect hats prefer to remove the sticker when they wear their hats.
I also fell victim to the ‘leaving the sticker on’ trend.  Unfortunately this resulted in an unpleasant looking faded spot when the sticker was removed or fell off.  Since that time I always remove the sticker.  If the sticker is nice, I like to place it in a sticker album.  Once you get used to removing the sticker you will find that the hat looks cleaner and you won’t have to worry about faded spots in the future.

‘47 Twins Toronto Blue Jays Retro Hat

I’ve been trying to upload a regular post about hats for a while now but have been delayed all summer thanks to trips and activities.  But today I finally had a few hours to organize my hats, take pictures, and even make a video.  This blog post is about my Blue Jays 47 Brand hat, and it’s funny because I actually took these pictures in the beginning of summer and I’m finally writing about it now in the end of summer.  It seems appropriate though because the Jays are the boys of summer, and I spent this summer watching the team.
What’s also funny is that I have a large 47 Brand collection, and this is the second time I’m mentioning a hat from them.  I guess it’s because I’ve been collecting way too many New Era fitteds over the last couple of years.  However the truth is I love 47 Brand and there’s not a week that goes by that I don’t wear a Franchise hat.
This Blue Jays hat is particularly important to me because it’s a retro version of my hometown team.  It represents the logo version I grew up watching and all the achievements the team had while using it.  The Franchise model is a hundred percent cotton, while the bill or brim uses plastic.  These two features not only make the hat comfortable, but also durable.  Unfortunately, this version of the hat has now been updated and no longer exists which makes me very thankful that the durability of 47 Brand hats will mean this hat will last me for years.

Twins Enterprise The Franchise

I wanted to start posting my hat collection on here, so I’ve decided to start with the hat that started it all for me; The Franchise made by Twins Enterprise.  It was around the mid 2000’s when I first discovered the hat.   Before that I owned a couple New Era fitted’s but I never wore them much.  I wasn’t much of a hat guy because I never felt comfortable with how they looked on me.  Yet in the back of my mind I dreamed of what the perfect hat would look like; it would be preppy in style, the body would be canvas-like material and the brim would be easy to bend.  I also dreamed that it would be a Yankees hat, because I loved New York at the time (the city not the team, lol).
Then one day I was walking around the mall when I discovered the hat that I was dreaming of inside of a hat store (Hat World).  Not only was it better than what I had been dreaming of, but it also looked good on me and felt comfortable.  The only problem was the price, retail was $32 Canadian.  I had never paid that much for a hat, so I had to pass on buying it.  Yet, when I met up with my dad and I told him about the hat, he immediately gave me the money and told me to go buy it.  I practically flew to the store to buy the hat because I wanted it so bad.
Ever since that day I have loved the Franchise hat, and have been an avid collector of the style.  However, this first hat is the most meaningful hat in my collection not only because it’s the most comfortable hat in the world, but also because my dad bought it for me.  And even though it is now torn, dirty and stinks it will always be my favourite hat.
