Lego Batman Alarm Clock

I started seeing Lego alarm clocks a few years ago, and thought that they were really cool.  The first series I saw were of Star Wars.  I wanted to buy the Darth Vader version, but since it didn’t come with a cape or lightsaber I decided to pass on buying one for myself.  I did however buy a Stormtrooper as a gift for a friend, and they really loved it.
The company that makes these alarm clocks (ClicTime Holdings) kept producing other Lego minifigure clocks and released a Batman version.  Thankfully the Batman version comes with a cape, so I bought one for myself.  The alarm clock is similar in movement to a Lego minifigure, except that the joints aren’t removable.  The time on the clock is accurate, and comes with other features such as an alarm clock, and an amber back light.  This is a beautiful and unique alarm clock and I hope more minifigures from Lego are released in the future.

Comic Book Guy Lego Minifigures

The first series run of Lego the Simpsons was pretty special to me because it was a combination of two of my favourite things; the Simpsons and Lego.  While my admiration for the Simpsons has certainly dwindled throughout the years, I still wanted to collect that Lego series because it seemed pretty cool.  So when I heard about a second series of Lego the Simpsons was releasing I thought I might be interested if they (Lego) released popular characters.
Unfortunately I was disappointed by the characters released in the second series.  They gave us again the Simpsons kin, but also characters that I find boring such as Patty and Selma (who are supposed to be annoying characters), and Hans Moleman and Martin Prince.  I was like, are you serious?  Who would want these characters?  But anyway, I don’t want to rant.  The only redeeming character that I really wanted was of Comic Book Guy, aka Jeff Albertson.  So rather than buy the whole series 2 of the Simpsons, I decided to only get minifigures of Comic Book Guy.
The first series of the Simpsons was pretty accurate towards the characters, yet I was again disappointed by the second series with the lack of accuracy.  I mean CBG is supposed to be fat, yet Lego didn’t bother with releasing a bigger minifigure body for him.  While I understand how complex creating a new body can be, I just think creating a wider body would have been nice.  I was also disappointed by the lack of paint on the back of CBG.  This second series of Lego the Simpsons felt rushed and almost like a money grab (which as a Simpsons fan, I’m used to).  For this reason, I really can’t recommend this series and in fact it’s the worst Lego Simpsons toy ever!

Lego City Undercover Wii U Chase McCain Minifigure

Here are two awesome Lego collectables that I’m adding to my collection.  The first is a video game called Lego City Undercover for the Nintendo Wii U.  The game is a combination between Grand Theft Auto, the Die Hard franchise and a Lego game.  I really think combining all three ideas into one game was an awesome idea because I’m a fan of them all.  The cover of the game is a classic Lego video game cover, displaying all the fun things to do in the game.  I also like that the game comes with a colour manual included.
The second Lego collectable that I’m adding to my collection is a minifigure of Chase McCain, the hero from the game.  This minifigure (set 5000281) was given out to anyone that pre-ordered the game.  The figure is simple with only 4 pieces to build, but it’s nicely detailed and a beautiful toy to display.  For those that want more than just to display, Lego also released a separate playset of Lego City Undercover featuring Chase McCain.  Besides that playset, I have to say this is a really nice collectable freebie that I hope Lego continues to do with future pre-ordered games.

The Lego Movie Minifigure Emmet

Here is my Lego minifigure of Emmet from the Lego Movie.  I’m pretty bad at buying collectables as soon as they release, so I waited way too long to buy this minifigure.  I just assumed that these figures would be around a while, so I took my time in getting him.  Unfortunately by the time I intended to buy him, the Lego Movie blind bag series had sold out (only one run was made).  That forced me to bite the bullet and buy Emmet from Ebay.  Although I did pay a little extra for him, I’m glad I did it because he’s a wonderful figure.
Lego released various variants of Emmet, and this blind bag version has his hard hat attached to his hair.  He comes in an orange jumpsuit with silver highlights and a blue long sleeve shirt.  The only accessory included is an Octan instruction manual that reads, “How to: Fit in!  Have everyone like you!  And always be happy!”  The only negative thing I have to say about this minifigure is that more accessories should have been included from the movie.  Nonetheless this is still a great figure that I’m happy to own and yell out everything is awesome.

The Simpsons Lego Minifigures Code Cheat

Here’s my decoder cheat for figuring out which Lego Simpsons character is in each blind bag from the Lego 71005 series.  You basically want to feel around for each of the pieces memtioned below to get the character you want.  Good Luck!
Lego Homer Simpson:  Look for a rectangular shape that is hollow (which is the remote), then for a small square piece which is the donut.
Lego Bart Simpson: Look for a barbell shape which is the skateboard wheels, then feel for Bart’s spiky hair.
Lego Marge Simpson:  Look for Marge’s hair which should feel like a long raspberry.
Lego Lisa Simpson:  Look for her saxophone, then her spiky hair.
Lego Maggie Simpson:  She doesn’t have legs, so look for a character without legs, then for her spiky hair and her teddy bear.
Lego Abe Simpson: Look for a square piece (his newspaper), and then for legs that bend.
Lego Chief Wiggum:  Look for a head with a large flat head (his hat), then for a pole (his baton), and then for his megaphone.
Lego Ralph Wiggum:  Look for a square piece (his Valentine’s card), then for legs that don’t bend, and for a smooth head.
Lego Itchy:  Look a crunchy cheeto like piece (his club).
Lego Scratchy:  Look for a pole with a triangle end, which should be his axe.
Lego Apu:  He should have a smooth cup, without a handle.
Lego Ned Flanders:  Look for a cup with a handle, then a tool box shape piece.
Lego Milhouse:  Look for a square piece (his comic book), then for legs that don’t bend, and a head that isn’t smooth.
Lego Nelson Muntz:  Look for a bat shape pole with ridges near the end, and then legs that don’t bend.
Lego Mr. Burns:  Look for a smooth pole, he’s the only character with a smooth pole.
Lego Krusty the Clown:  Look for a circular piece (his pie), and then for a head with horns (his hair)

Lego Super Heroes Batman Superman

Ever since I started playing Lego video games I have been a fan of Legos.  The first game I played was Lego Batman, and I played that game for hours.  It has many of the things I love in a video game; it can be simple or difficult (depending on what you want to accomplish), it has cool and cute graphics, it’s fun to play so it doesn’t get boring, and Lego is able to combine many of the pop-culture genres and movies that I like (Batman, Star Wars, Indiana Jones).   The ideas are endless as to what other games they might come up with, but I would love something like Lego Back to the Future, Lego Pulp Fiction (I’m dreaming, lol), and Lego the A-Team.
As I was playing Lego Batman I got the urge to buy some Lego minifigures of Batman.  I went online to look for some but unfortunately they had come out a few years earlier and were now very expensive.  I wanted to kick myself because a couple years ago I had seen the Batman sets on clearance and I passed on them.  Fortunately as time passed I was online one day and read the news that Lego was going to re-release Lego Batman, and other Marvel and DC Superheroes as minifigures.  That made my day, and I couldn’t wait to collect them all.
Lego Superheroes officially released in early 2012, and the first characters I bought were Batman and Superman.  Batman is featured in a grey and blue costume, while Superman has a regular blue, red and yellow costume.  Both Batman and Superman have two faces, so you can pose them however you like, and they both come with capes.  I didn’t want to buy the whole set for each character, so I bought them separately online.  I highly recommend these figures, they are top quality and stand out pretty nice on a desk.
