Zelda Wii U Delay

So today we heard the news that Zelda Wii U will be delayed, or rather not rushed for a 2015 release.  While the news is unfortunate for anyone that has been patiently waiting for this game, I have to admit I’m actually happy to hear of its delay.  I say this because Eiji Aonuma admitted in his video update that in the process of working on this game he found new possibilities that will exceed expectations.  This gets me excited because I want to be blown away when I finally do play this game, just like I have been with previous games.

Another reason I was hoping for a delay was because I stopped gaming for many years and missed out on many Zelda games.  I didn’t get back into gaming until I played Phantom Hourglass on the DS.  That game instantly reinvigorated my love for Nintendo, gaming and Zelda games.  So this delay will be a great way to catch up on past releases.

When I play a Zelda game I really get into them deeply and I let them consume my time.  I like to explore the world, perfect my skills on the mini-games, and of course defeat the villain when I am ready (strong enough).  All of this takes time and dedication, and I want to make sure by the time Zelda Wii U is released I have not only completed all previous Zelda games, but gave them the time and energy to that they deserve.

The commitment I put into Zelda games is satisfying because I have fun from beginning till end. So, if a delay is necessary for Aonuma-sama to make the best possible Zelda Wii U game then I am all for it because I know this game will be historic.

And oh yeah, this delay will also allow Star Fox Wii U to have the attention it deserves.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Glassware Set

Cowabunga Dudes!  Here is my set of two etched 16 ounce glasses of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  I bought them from a store called Winners, and they cost me $9.99.  I would never pay that much for glasses, but in this case it was of The TMNT’s and I couldn’t pass up on them.  The Turtle’s was one of my favourite TV shows as a kid, and every time I see their animated cartoon version’s I smile and think of all the good memories I had of them.
This set is comprised of one version that features the turtle’s ready to battle that says’ “heroes in a half shell”, and the other of them surfing that says “Cowabunga”.  Back in the late 80’s I remember screen printed glasses like this used to be very popular.  Even back then I had a collection, but unfortunately over time fast-food places stopped selling them; either because of price or the danger of glass or poisons used to make them.  Regardless I am now happy to once again be able to collect collector cup glasses.  I also hope to see more TMNT character’s released as well such as Shredder, Krang, and Foot Soldiers.

Toad Amiibo

Today I was lucky enough to find a Toad Amiibo figure.  Toad was never a popular character when I was a kid.  The most popular of course was Mario, so that’s why Nintendo made many games that featured him.  Then one day Nintendo decided to make a game featuring Toad as the protagonist in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.  The game looked like fun and had lots of charm to it.  It always amazes me how Nintendo is able to launch a relatively small character into superstardom with their own franchise like they did with Luigi in Luigi's Mansion, Donkey Kong in Donkey Kong Country, and Yoshi in Yoshi’s Story.
Now that Toad has his own spin-off series, I had to buy his Amiibo figure.  Amiibo Toad was officially released on March 20th, 2015.  I’m thankful that the release date was more organized than other releases.  Toad is part of the Super Mario Amiibo figures which I consider the second series of Amiibo, the first one being Super Smash Bros.  Toad is well painted and sculpted, and it shows that the manufacturer is getting better at producing these figures.  I’m glad Nintendo decided to honour Toad with an Amiibo and I’m excited to see what the future holds for this loveable little guy.

World of Nintendo Donkey Kong Country 2.5 Inch Action Figure

The World of Nintendo toy line from Jakks Pacific has been releasing amazing toy figures at an affordable price for a while now.  My latest figure from them is of Donkey Kong, who is modelled after the Tropical Freeze game.  The figure retails around $5 CAN, and stands at 2.5 inches tall.  Jakks Pacific did release a bigger version of Donkey Kong earlier, but I like this smaller version instead.
This smaller version is perfect for displaying on a desk, since he doesn’t take up much space.  Unfortunately his tiny size also comes at a cost of limited articulation with only the arms, legs and neck being able to move.  While the decreased options in posing him may suck, what makes up for it is the quality of the figure.  The paint job is flawless (as far as $5 toys go), and the sculpt is accurate to the video game version of DK.  Jakks Pacific did a wonderful job on this figure, and he will be a nice addition to my World of Nintendo collection.

Mark Buehrle Blue Jays Bobblehead

The Mark Buehrle Blue Jays bobblehead was the third and final bobblehead of the 2014 season.  20,000 of these bobbleheads were given out at Rogers Centre on Sunday, August 24th, 2014.  The bobblehead was manufactured by BDA Inc., and was made in China.  It comes packaged in a box with a display window, and a nice little write-up on the side.  The figure is wearing the alternate uniform which features a royal blue jersey, and white pants with blue stripes.
Buehrle was traded from the Miami Marlins in 2012, in what many consider a revitalization of the franchise.  It certainly did lift the spirit of the city as people started to believe this team was capable of making the playoffs.  Unfortunately two years later, the drought continued as the team went more years without seeing the postseason.  Buehrle however was an All-star as he went on to surpass 200 innings pitched in 14 consecutive seasons in his career.  His leadership was also something valuable as he mentored the younger pitchers such as Stroman, Hutchison, and Sanchez.
The quality of bobbleheads from BDA Inc. keeps getting better and better as Buehrle is displayed winding up for a pitch.  The details included on the figure are impressive as it even captures the chain he wears around his neck, and the details of his glove.  The paint job is also nice with a near flawless face, and even going so far as painting the ball in Buehrle’s hand (now that’s craftsmanship).  This is an excellent bobblehead, and the perfect way to end off another Blue Jays season.

Blue Jays Retro Solid Blue Fitted Hat

This style of hat was worn by the Jays from 1989 to 1996.  Although it was occasionally used at home games, I consider it a road game hat.  I like it because the front panels aren’t white making it perfect for everyday use because the dirt won’t show up as easily.  I also like that the underbrim is green, a distinctive feature that honours the hats from the 80’s.
Brand: New Era
Team: Toronto Blue Jays
Style: 59Fifty, Fitted, Cooperstown Collection
Additional: Made in USA, 100% Wool, Green Underbrim
